Birth injuries or death can occur
during prenatal care or during labor and delivery
or during the neonatal period.
During the prenatal period, obstetricians

death to the mother or fetus by failing to monitor,
test and treat the following problems:

3. Excessive weight gain of mother

section delivery.
- Failure of the labor to cause
the fetus to come to delivery.
- Development of a shoulder
dystocia causing an arrest of labor.
